Madonna di Campiglio tackles overtourism with limited ski passes

Madonna di Campiglio has announced the introduction of the “Ideal Number” to tackle the issue of overtourism in the Brenta Dolomites. Starting from the next winter season, during the New Year weeks (from December 28, 2025, to January 5, 2026) and Carnival (from February 15 to February 22, 2026), the SkiArea Madonna di Campiglio will dynamically regulate the sale of daily ski passes, limiting access to a maximum of 14-15 thousand skiers on the slopes. This measure will not affect holders of seasonal ski passes or other types of passes, who will continue to have guaranteed access. For skiing enthusiasts planning to visit the SkiArea during these busy periods, it is strongly recommended to purchase the daily ski pass in advance to secure a spot on the slopes. Additionally, new “Smart” ski pass options are being developed to optimize skier flow distribution and reduce congestion in the busiest areas of the more than 150 km of slopes in the SkiArea, which also includes nearby resorts like Folgarida and Marilleva.
