Riva del Garda hosts peace march with students
On Monday, October 13th, **Riva del Garda** hosted a significant **peace march**, involving around **2,000 participating students** from various local high schools, including Liceo Maffei and Istituto Tecnico Floriani. The procession, which started from the sports field of the parish around 9:30 AM, saw the participation of teachers, local administrators, and notable figures such as Mayor Alessio Zanoni and activist John Mpaliza. The students chanted the slogan “The school repudiates war,” waving flags and signs made during the preparations. The event was organized by the municipality in collaboration with the schools to promote a moment of collective reflection on the themes of peace and war. During the event, thoughts and poems created by the students were read, followed by significant speeches that emphasized the importance of courage in building peace. The march concluded in Piazza della Costituzione, where a minute of silence was observed for the victims of conflicts around the world, underscoring the commitment of the youth to be agents of change through concrete actions for a better future.
