Lakeside redesign in Desenzano: the construction site moves towards completion

The construction site for the third phase of the new lakeside promenade in Desenzano has been opened, marking a revamp project that has been awaited for 15 years. This project extends from Via Gramsci to the Park Hotel. Despite delays caused by bad weather, work has finally commenced, and the operation, with a total value of 8 million euros, is moving towards completion. This final stretch will feature a new granite walkway with marble borders, benches, and green areas, as well as a monument dedicated to the “lavandaie,” created by the sculptor Angiolino Aime. The original project dates back to 2010 and has gone through four different municipal administrations. Following the inauguration of the first phase in 2020 and the completion of the second phase last May, the finishing touches on the lakeside promenade are expected to be completed by the end of May. The project management is entrusted to Studio Visconti, with the contract awarded to the Bettineschi company from Rovetta. With this revamp, Desenzano is set to radically transform its historic lakeside, making it more accessible and welcoming for both residents and tourists. Italian Version
