Femicidio in Castelnuovo del Garda: un dramma da affrontare
A tragic femicide has shaken Castelnuovo del Garda, where Jessica Strappazzollo, a 33-year-old woman, was stabbed to death by her partner Douglas Reis Pedroso, a 41-year-old man. The incident took place inside the man’s apartment and led to the intervention of the carabinieri after friends of the victim reported her missing. The Verona Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation and will soon commission an autopsy on Jessica’s body, which is crucial for determining the precise time of the crime, which occurred between Sunday and Monday. Tomorrow evening, October 30, a memorial will be held in front of the Castelnuovo town hall, organized by the municipal administration led by Mayor Davide Sandrini. The mayor expressed his condolences to Jessica’s family and addressed the controversies surrounding the closure of the local anti-violence center, emphasizing the importance of activating services dedicated to women victims of gender-based violence. At the time of his arrest, Pedroso was in a confused state and was already known to law enforcement for previous offenses related to abuse and violence.
