Salò and Pasolini: a conference for Italian culture

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s passing, the city of Salò is celebrating the great intellectual with a series of cultural events starting from November 2nd. The event series, titled “Tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini – The Corsair Gaze 1975-2025,” will feature meetings and screenings focused on the artistic and social legacy of the poet, writer, and director, reflecting on his enduring relevance in Italian culture. The program includes a multidisciplinary conference moderated by Albano Morandi, featuring experts such as Pino Casamassima and Simona Zecchi, who will explore various aspects of Pasolini’s life and work. The initiatives will unfold through three main events: a literary-musical journey dedicated to Pasolini’s passions, a reflection on his relationship with power through art, and a screening of the film “Accattone.” These moments not only honor the memory of the great artist but also invite the public to engage with his ideas, highlighting how his thoughts continue to provoke current debates about contemporary society.
