A tragic femicide has shaken Castelnuovo del Garda, where Jessica Custodia de Lima Stappazzollo, a 33-year-old woman, was fatally stabbed by her partner, Douglas Reis Pedroso, 41. The incident occurred during the night between Monday and Tuesday, following weeks of tension and domestic violence that the victim had endured. Jessica’s mother, Rosimeri Stappazzollo, recounted how the family had tried in vain to convince their daughter to leave the violent man. The warning signs were evident: previous threats and assaults had already sent Jessica to the emergency room on two occasions. The situation escalated when the young woman’s father, who lives in Brazil, could no longer reach her for days and asked family members to check on her.
