Italian Championship Match Race U23: challenges in Desenzano del Garda

The Italian U23-Open Match Race Championship will take place in Desenzano del Garda, hosted by the Fraglia Vela Desenzano, starting from November 9. The event will feature 14 teams from across Italy, who will compete using six Dolphin 81 boats provided by the organizing club. This competition is one of the highlights of the national calendar for match racing and includes two female teams, highlighting the growing interest among young sailors and female competitors in this discipline. The races will follow a “1-1” format, promising an experience rich in technical and tactical spectacle. Domenico Foschini, Federal Councilor of FIV, emphasized the importance of Match Racing as a training tool for young athletes, while Stefano Loda, president of Fraglia Vela Desenzano, expressed pride in hosting the best Italian helmsmen.
