Sirmione and the Island of Reuse: Circular Economy in Action

In Sirmione, the “Isola del Riuso” (Reuse Island) has been inaugurated, an innovative project that promotes the circular economy and the reuse of items. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Cauto Social Cooperative, provides citizens with the opportunity to bring in goods in good condition that they no longer use, such as furniture and toys, so that they can be restored and reintroduced into circulation. The ceremony took place on November 7, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the municipality’s Ecological Island, with the participation of Mayor Luisa Lavelli and other institutional figures. The project not only aims to reduce waste and enhance local resources but also supports social values such as inclusion and active community participation. As highlighted by representatives of the municipal administration, this initiative represents a concrete step towards a more sustainable future where every citizen can contribute to the common good through everyday practices of reuse.
