Preparations in Maderno for the winter New Year’s bath

Preparations for the New Year’s Swim: “Preparation” has begun in Maderno Over the weekend, at the Maderno lido along the Zanardelli lakeside, the gatherings resumed for the brave participants of the group “Quelli,” who take the plunge all year round. These weekly meetings serve to prepare for the highly anticipated New Year’s swim, an event that attracts over a hundred daring individuals from across the Province and beyond each year. The practice sessions will continue until May, when the water temperatures become milder. On Saturday, November 8, a dozen enthusiasts faced the chill of the local waters, accompanied by photographer Mauro and some friends on the beach. Among the participants were president Alido Cavazzoni, the mastermind behind the New Year’s swim, and the indomitable Enzo Gallotta. Also joining them were Lidia, Katia, Valeria, and other friends who traveled from afar. After a plunge into the 16-degree water that allowed for about ten minutes of immersion, Alido and Enzo declared, “It was a good start.” The next appointment is set for next Saturday at 10:30 AM for the next swim at 11, open to all.
