Traffic accident in Lonato: community mourns Claudio Messena

A serious road accident has struck the communities of Lonato and Mazzano, mourning the tragic loss of Claudio Messena, 63 years old. The man, who lived in Lonato but was originally from Mazzano, lost his life in the late afternoon of Wednesday, November 12, along the State Road 11, near the junction for San Martino della Battaglia and Lugana. Messena was riding a maxi scooter towards Verona when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the guardrail. Despite the immediate intervention of emergency services and air rescue, resuscitation attempts were in vain. The news of his death has caused profound sorrow in both communities, which have come together to support the family during this difficult time. The investigation into the accident has been entrusted to the Traffic Police of Desenzano, while traffic on the state road was temporarily halted to facilitate the necessary operations.
