Fulvio Angelini, a well-known sailor from Salò, has chosen to celebrate his seventieth birthday in an adventurous way by crossing the Atlantic for the third time on a sailing boat. The crew, which includes Angelini as well as his students Giordano Lussignoli and Ivan Togni, set sail on Sunday, November 23, aboard the Mira, a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 41.9 provided by the owner Alberto Cavagnini. Their journey will take them to Saint Lucia in the Lesser Antilles to participate in the 40th edition of the ARC – Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, one of the most renowned regattas for amateur sailors. In addition to the sporting challenge, the trip has an artistic touch: the Brescia-based artist Paolo Buzi has entrusted the crew with several messages in bottles that will be released into the ocean waters. With a course of 2,700 nautical miles from Gran Canaria to Rodney Bay, Fulvio Angelini and his team are preparing to face three weeks of sailing immersed in the beauty of the open sea.
