A high-speed chase occurred in the early afternoon of November 26 along the SR11, between Lazise and Peschiera del Garda, leading to the arrest of two young men already known to law enforcement. The Carabinieri from the Lazise Station, engaged in a crime prevention operation, noticed a car with two individuals inside exhibiting suspicious behavior. When asked to stop for a check, the driver attempted to flee, resulting in several collisions with other vehicles, including a heavy truck that ultimately blocked the SUV. The chase ended with the arrest of the two men, a 21-year-old Italian and a 30-year-old Croatian citizen, after an unsuccessful attempt to escape on foot. During the search of the vehicle, gloves, balaclavas, and burglary tools were discovered. The young men were held in secure cells pending the validation of their arrest by the Judge of the Verona Court, who ordered house arrest for both until a hearing scheduled for February 2026.
