Iginio Massari in Gardone Riviera: new food and wine restaurant by the lake
Gardone Riviera: Maestro Iginio Massari Unveils His Lakeside Restaurant, Opening This Easter. The new venture by the Massari family is one of the most anticipated developments for the upcoming season in the area. Restoration and renovation work on the former Casino, now known as Palazzo Wimmer, is already underway, aiming to create a space dedicated to dining, events, and gastronomic showcases. The project, which involves an annual investment of 150,000 euros for rent and an additional 10,000 euros for a summer beach bar, was presented at a public meeting by Iginio Massari’s son, Nicola, alongside Mayor Adelio Zeni and architect Gianluca Gallucci. The facility is expected to open by Easter and will provide job opportunities for approximately 35-40 people. The idea is to transform the various floors of the building into a landmark for local gastronomy: the ground floor will feature an elite dining area with the goal of earning Michelin stars, while the first floor will host a tasting zone. There will not be a takeaway pastry shop; the Massari family’s sweet creations will be available exclusively within the restaurant. Built in 1909 as a Kurhaus, the property has a long history associated with entertainment and was revitalized in 2021 after several uses over the years. Italian Version
