Fire on truck carrier on the A4: delays near Peschiera del Garda

A car transporter fire has raised alarms along the A4 motorway near the Peschiera del Garda toll booth, causing traffic disruptions towards Venice. The incident occurred shortly after 8 AM today, December 5, when several reports reached the operations center of the Verona Fire Department, indicating the onset of a fire in the braking system of a passing car transporter. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed and had the presence of mind to unload some of the vehicles being transported before the flames reached them. Two fire crews, from the Bardolino station and the central Verona unit, promptly extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading further. However, motorway traffic experienced slowdowns due to the reduction to a single lane, with the operation concluding after about two hours with the securing of the involved vehicle.
