Bardolino Lakefront Upgrades Boost Port and Promote Sustainable Mobility

The northern pier at Bardolino port was officially reopened on December 30, after being out of use due to structural deterioration and damage from a 2023 incident. The new steel and wood pier, part of a €340,000 project funded partly by the Veneto Region, enhances water transport infrastructure, allowing Navigarda to dock two boats simultaneously and improving public lake transportation.

The project, costing €204,000 including design, also includes replacing catenaries and partial dredging of the port area. The upgrade addresses safety concerns following the April 2023 incident when a passenger boat damaged the southern pier, and additional maintenance works are underway to ensure sustainable port operations.
