Lugana DOC Debuts at China Wine Fair in Shanghai

Another international debut for the Lugana DOC. From November 18 to 21, the Consorzio Tutela del Lugana DOC will be present, through its own booth, at the first edition of China Wine, which will take place in the populous city of Shanghai, home to over 13 million inhabitants.

Shanghai, located in the province of Kjiangsu, not only boasts a port of global importance but is also rich in textile, steel, chemical, and petrochemical industries, as well as glass and tobacco manufacturing.

Exhibition and company presence

At this inaugural International Wine Fair, Lugana producers will participate through the Consorzio, showcasing the entire range of Lugana DOC products from its members.

A dozen wineries producing this exceptional white wine, considered by experts among the best Italian whites, will be part of this Garda-based wine expedition, each with personalized stands.

Collaborations and institutional support

The presence of producers and the Consorzio del Lugana in China has been made possible also thanks to the support of the Chambers of Commerce of Brescia and Verona, which have long been attentive to and supportive of the international promotion of this product.

The Consorzio Tutela Lugana will also be represented in China by its president Francesco Ghiraldi.

Banca di Roma, through its Shanghai branch and its Director in Shanghai, has expressed its willingness to serve as a support point, assisting Lugana DOC producers by providing technical hosting and coordination between our participants and the Chinese production and trade sectors.

Impact and prospects in China

This will be the first official outing in the populous Asian nation, which has over 1,160,000,000 inhabitants spread over an area of 9,356,499 km², and will undoubtedly generate interest in this Italian wine.

As seen in other parts of the world, Lugana DOC will surely receive high appreciation and favorable responses from Chinese restaurateurs and major retail chains.

Furthermore, it is well known that the Lugana DOC can be paired with countless dishes based on rice, the principal food throughout China.
