Garda’s Agriculture and Agrotourism Showcased on National Media

Products and Agrotourism Realities of Garda take center stage at the national level thanks to the interest of Mamma Rai and one of the most important culinary magazines nationwide: Cucina Italiana. For two days, today and tomorrow Saturday, technicians and journalists from both outlets will explore some of the main products offered by Brescia’s agriculture, such as extra virgin olive oil from Valtenesi, cheeses, and Lugana DOC.

During these segments, all aspects related to these specific productions will be analyzed, from cultivation through processing to the finished product, ready for commercialization. For some time now, the new provincial agriculture commissioner of Brescia, Giampaolo Mantelli, has been actively working and advocating so that the flagship products of our province can go beyond regional borders and confidently present themselves on both national and international markets.

Promotion Perspectives and Territory Visits

Certainly, in certain sectors, production is not of large scale, but quality remains at the top, as recently confirmed by the same commissioner. Troupe RAI and journalists from Cucina Italiana will move together, starting from Locanda Santa Giulia in Padenghe, which has been designated as the headquarters.

Today (Friday), they will focus on olive oil and cheeses. Tomorrow, Saturday, the focus will shift to Lugana DOC, with visits to the wineries Otella and Marangona, and a lunch at the agriturismo “Ortaglia” in San Martino della Battaglia, featuring dishes made with local products prepared according to traditional Garda cuisine recipes.

Events and Participants

During the convivial meeting in San Martino, the provincial tourism assessor of Brescia, Ermes Buffoli, will be present, representing also his colleague Mantelli, who is engaged in the National Committee of CCD, along with the president of the Consorzio Tutela Lugana DOC, Francesco Ghiraldi.
