Rovereto Executes Evacuation and Emergency Response in Red Zone Over WWII Bomb
Trentino authorities have scheduled the disarmament of a WWII-era bomb found in Rovereto’s ex Cofler area for January 11, prompting mandatory evacuation in the “Red Zone” from 7 to 9 a.m. and traffic restrictions in the “Yellow Zone” until 2:30 p.m. The entire area, including the Brenner railway, will be temporarily closed to traffic during the operation.
From January 7 to 11, Civil Protection, with support from the Trento Red Cross and other organizations, activated a dedicated assistance service for Rovereto residents. The service manages shelter placements and transportation needs, especially for vulnerable individuals, via a dedicated helpline. Residents are encouraged to communicate their needs to facilitate evacuation and support efforts.
