The SAT Environmental Literature Festival in Arco is ready to return for its third edition, which will take place from May 9th to May 19th at Nelson Mandela Park in Arco. The festival aims to provide spaces for dialogue and discussion on the current environmental and climate crisis, inviting the public to reflect on the values, paradigms, and lifestyles needed to address this challenge.

The festival program includes a series of meetings with prestigious authors, book presentations, literary walks, and activities for families. Among the scheduled events, there are also two animated readings for children, aiming to involve even the youngest in environmental issues.

It begins on Thursday, May 9th, with an animated reading for children curated by Chiara Ioppi in the Courtyard of Palazzo Panni. On Friday, May 10th, there will be an educational meeting for students of the Gardascuola Institute with journalist Ferdinando Cotugno, who will discuss the themes of climate change and personal and collective actions to “repair” the world.

Also on Friday, May 10th, at Nelson Mandela Park, the first author meeting will take place: Ferdinando Cotugno will present his book “Primavera ambientale. L’ultima rivoluzione per salvare la vita umana sulla Terra” (Environmental Spring. The Last Revolution to Save Human Life on Earth). On Saturday, May 11th, it will be possible to participate in a literary bike ride led by Gabriele Bertacchini and Viola Ducati along the Sarca River cycle path, titled “Il tempo della natura. La vita che continua” (The Time of Nature. Life Goes On).

Sunday, May 12th, will be the traditional tree planting day in San Giovanni al Monte, organized by the SAT of Arco. On Thursday, May 16th, there will be a second animated reading for children by Astrid Mazzola in the Courtyard of Palazzo Panni.

Friday, May 17th, will be the presentation of the book of short stories “Natura corta” (Short Nature) by Diego Leandro Genna at Nelson Mandela Park. On Saturday, May 18th, there will be a literary walk in the olive grove titled “Stare bene. Cosa ci insegna la natura” (Well-being. What Nature Teaches Us), led by Gabriele Bertacchini and Viola Ducati.

Finally, on Sunday, May 19th, the festival will conclude with a family day at Bosco Caproni, with visits to the forest and oolite quarries and activities proposed by the participating associations.

All events are open to the public, and in case of rain, they will take place at the SAT headquarters in Arco or in the spaces of the B. Emmert Civic Library. The festival is organized by the SAT of Arco with the patronage and support of the Municipality of Arco and the collaboration of other associations and sponsors.
