Amici Nuoto Riva Breaks Records Before Summer Championships

This season will go down in the annals of «Amici Nuoto Riva» as one of the most memorable. Out of the 45 competitions participated in since November ’99, the athletes of the club presided over by Luciano Rigatti achieved a remarkable total of 37 regional or provincial records.

The dedication of swimmers, coaches, and officials has been well rewarded, leading to a well-deserved rest starting from August 12. Next Saturday will mark the end of this incredible competitive season: the Italian Summer Category Championships, which are beginning today in Genoa.

Participants and notable results

In the Ligurian capital, the formidable Stefano Mandelli will compete in the cadets category, along with girls Cristina Pace, Anna Pellegrini, Veronica Orlandi, and Paola Valner — all of whom are regional overall champions in the 4×200 freestyle relay—and who also participated in the Youth Championships held in Imperia this past February.

To complete a record-breaking year, it’s worth mentioning the successful commitments of regional calendar clubs: the Benvenuto Trophy, the 2nd Misty Trophy, and the 1st Antonio Monti Trophy.

Finally, yet importantly, we must highlight the team’s prestigious accomplishments in competitions such as the Regional Absolute Summer Championship and the Provincial Summer Grand Prix for Beginners.

In just a few days, the vacations begin: competitive commitments will resume in autumn.
