Farmers to Meet Over Unpaid Compensation for Lands Expropriated for Ring Road

Farmers will hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss the pressing issue of unpaid compensation from Anas. These relate to lands expropriated seven years ago for the construction of the ring road.

Details of the meeting and situation of the compensation

The meeting will take place at 10 am at the former Menghini nursery, on Via Battisti, with the presence of provincial officials from trade associations and farmers coming also from the nearby Brescia province.

The farmers initially received 80 percent of their due payments but were then completely ignored by the road agency, which did not make the final payment.

Numerous requests and continuous pressure have yielded no results. This has led to increasing frustration among those involved, which has grown over the years, especially considering that interventions by the prefect and the mayor have also been unsuccessful.

Prospects and possible protest actions

It appears that the farmers now intend to escalate their protest. It is not excluded that tomorrow they will decide on strong action, planning a roadblock.
