Veneto Receives €323 Billion for Urgent Road Works by 2003

Veneto has been allocated only 323 billion euros out of the 4,000 billion euros allocated for the next three-year period for Anas. The funding assigned to the region is expected to cover the works deemed most urgent, which will be put into construction until 2003. Among these are also the two sections of the variant to the state road 11 that concern the territories of Peschiera and Castelnuovo, up to the roundabout connecting the current highway to the superstrada for Affi.

Interventions and Reactions

“While, on one hand, it is sad to once again see the lack of attention from the State toward an important region like Veneto,” comments Mayor and parliamentarian Umberto Chincarini, “on the other hand, it is positive that the urgency and necessity of providing an alternative to the so-called low lake traffic, suffocated by the heavy truck traffic and too many cars, have finally been understood.”

“But if today this project has become a regional priority, it is also thanks to the persistence and determination of local administrators who over the years have never given up, filling the relevant authorities and entities with appeals, so that everything would not fall into oblivion.”
