The fifth edition of the General Assembly of Sustainable Mobility on Lake Garda will take place in Desenzano del Garda. The event is organized by the L.ACU.S. Association as part of the Garda Sustainability Festival. The meeting will be held on Saturday, May 11th at Palazzo Todeschini.

The objective of this edition is to discuss the need for coordinated intervention between the Lombardy Region, the Province of Brescia, and the Garda Community to address the issues related to the lake’s road network. The aim is also to involve institutions and organizations in implementing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PUMS), in collaboration with the Veneto Region and the Autonomous Province of Trento.

During the event presentation, it was emphasized that, four years after the last meeting, the urgent need to adopt a PUMS for Lake Garda has become evident. This plan should promote intermodality as a key concept, encouraging the synergistic use of different modes of transportation to optimize travel and improve quality of life by reducing traffic, energy consumption, and noise pollution.

The program for the day includes institutional greetings from the City of Desenzano del Garda, followed by a presentation of the conference’s objectives by the President of the L.ACU.S. Association, Luigi Del Prete. Gianantonio Crisafulli, Federal Councillor of the Italian Cycling Federation, and Carlo Pasqualini, Head of the Bike Hospitality Project of the same federation, will then speak.

At 10:10 am, Angelo Rullo from the Trentino Sustainable Mobility Committee and Cristian Poma, Mobility Manager and CEO of Viride Group, will take the floor. At 10:50 am, Barbara Mazzali, Councillor for Tourism and Territorial Marketing of the Lombardy Region, will be followed by Paolo Fontana, Provincial Councillor responsible for sustainable mobility.

At 11:30 am, Franco Lucente, Councillor for Sustainable Mobility of the Lombardy Region, and Mariastella Gelmini, President of the Garda Community, will speak. The organizers will provide the closing remarks, followed by an open debate moderated by Pierlucio Ceresa, Secretary General of the Garda Community.
