Garda Community and Lega Nord Urge Fast Restoration of Western Gardesana Road
The Garda Community also steps onto the field regarding the “Western Gardesana issue.” Through its vice president, the Rivana geologist Vincenzo Ceschini, the Community calls for the road to be secured and, therefore, reopened, preferably by Easter 2001.
At the same time, the Province must expedite the works for the tunnel as much as possible, explains the vice president, and although the Community agrees on the construction, the completion times provided by Trento are too uncertain.
Positions of the Lega Nord and the local territory
The Lega Nord Rivana shares the same opinion: “The road,” writes secretary Giorgio Perini, “must be restored as soon as possible, perhaps with a rockfall barrier or anything else that makes transit possible safely.”
The tunnel is undoubtedly the best solution, but at a later stage, given the long times ahead. We remind Casagranda that Limone lives exclusively from tourism, which took years of hard work and sacrifices by the residents to create this beautiful reality.
“A two-year closure would cause unimaginable damage.”
