Lombardy Allocates 70 Million Euros to Boost Farm Sustainability and Animal Welfare

Lombardy allocates €70 million to support agricultural projects focused on climate mitigation, environmental protection, and animal welfare under the 2023-2027 PAC measure SRD02. After increasing funding from €61 million, 216 of 244 applications are eligible, with 101 projects approved so far, remaining open until December 31, 2026.

Funding is distributed across sectors, including €27.8 million for pig farming, €7.5 million for mountain-area farms, and €34 million for other plains-based livestock operations. To date, nearly €70 million has supported 101 projects, with notable provincial allocations such as Bergamo (€889,024), Brescia (€12.68 million), Cremona (€14 million), Mantova (€29.85 million), and Sondrio (€4.64 million).
