Lonato Fair 2024 Launches with Cultural Events, Expanded Exhibits, and New Sponsorship
The 43rd edition of the Lonato Fair will be officially presented during a grand gala on Friday evening, January 5th at 8:30 PM, at the Italia Cinema Theatre of the Centro giovanile on Via Antiche Mura.
The entire organizing committee will be present, along with the president, who is also the mayor of the town, Morando Perini. During the evening, the «Città di Lonato» musical band, the Basilica choir, the «Arcangelo da Lonato» choir, and students from the «Paolo Chimeri» music school will perform several pieces from their repertoires.
The new director of the event, Stefano Barovelli, expressed satisfaction upon learning that the Ministry of Agricultural and Forest Resources has granted an honorary and unexpected sponsorship. Also during the musical gala on January 5th, the various fair dates will be announced, along with the traditional «Numero unico», containing eighteen articles on topics ranging from culture to local history.
Exhibition spaces and fair organization
It is noteworthy that all available spaces within the four initially planned tents are already fully booked, forcing the president and mayor, together with councilors Paolo Marcoli (Commerce) and Alessandra Fontana (Culture and Sports), to find a new location for another tent in order to accommodate additional exhibitors.
The outdoor spaces are also already filled. As explained by director Stefano Barovelli, the spaces set up within the fairgrounds have been allocated and occupied by exhibitors from the sectors traditionally targeted by the Lonato Fair.
Therefore, there will be no stalls typical of village festivals inside the tents; instead, they will be arranged along the road connecting the fairground area near the schools to the town center.
Here, in Piazza dei Martiri della Libertà, a covered structure will be set up exclusively for Protection and promotion consortia of typical Brescia and Garda products.
Program and conference
The schedule of events during the fair days is rich and interesting, including a conference scheduled for 8:30 PM on Monday, January 15th, in the Celesti room of the town hall, titled «From Tarello to the Contemporary Era. The Evolution of Lombard Agriculture from the 17th Century to Today».
