Castiglione Safety Committee Proposes Participation in Apartment Auction
The Safety Committee will propose to the municipal administration to participate in the purchase of the 16 apartments in the Cinque Continenti district, which will soon go to auction. It was the same president of the committee, Guido Zaglio, who announced this initiative after the committee began its work in December. In the first meeting, the attending commissioners met with Mayor Sigurtà and the Municipal Police to assess the feasibility of certain initiatives related to control and prevention, particularly in the Cinque Continenti neighborhood. “The first meeting was quite positive,” said committee president Zaglio, “however, we have only just begun our work.
Seeing how well we started, I want to immediately warn all political groups that might try to instrumentalize our efforts politically: we are not interested in interference that is not solely aimed at the well-being of the citizens of Castiglione.” We have already scheduled the next meeting, which will take place on January 23. There are many items on the agenda and also a proposal that we want to discuss with the administration, which we are confident will show sensitivity.” Zaglio refers to the fact that, in the coming weeks, a portion of the apartments in the Cinque Continenti district, previously owned by a bankrupt company, will be auctioned. For this reason, Zaglio intends to propose to the administration, subject to the committee’s approval, that they participate in this sale: “I believe it is important to discuss with the administration whether it makes sense to participate, with a budget allocation, in the auction for the apartments in Cinque Continenti. In any case, I think it would be appropriate for the mayor and the administration to tell whoever wins the auction that they will constantly monitor the situation, so that episodes like those from previous years, driven by private interests, do not happen again.”
