Giuseppe Mongiello Resigns as Deputy Mayor to Focus on Comunità del Garda

Giuseppe Mongiello, former literature teacher at the Battisti technical institute, will step down from his roles as vice mayor and assessor (Public Education, Culture). Mongiello, a former Christian Democrat, who served as number one for five years following Riccardo Marchioro’s tenure, was appointed president of the Comunità del Garda in December. His new commitments have led him to relinquish his municipal responsibilities.

While retaining the position of head of the “Civica raccolta del disegno,” which is also financially supported by the Broletto, and continuing to contribute “to a couple of initiatives per year,” Mongiello will hand over Public Education to Alberto Colombo. The Culture department will instead be managed by Mayor Giampiero Cipani, who has already announced plans to renovate the Sala dei Provveditori (starting with the flooring) to host exhibitions, conferences, and concerts.

A total of 450 million lire will be spent, including the renovation of the west staircase.
