Valeggio Prepares for Local Child Singing Contest and Zecchino d’Oro Bid

The initial stages of what could be considered a small-scale Sanremo Festival will take place next Saturday in the civic hall of Palazzo Guarienti.

For that day, auditions are scheduled to select 12 children aged five to ten who will participate in the first singing contest “Castello di Valeggio.” Organized by the Assessorato alla Cultura in collaboration with the Pro Loco and the Cea (Centro di Educazione Artistica), the event will give children the chance to experience the thrill of the stage on Sunday, March 25th at 4 PM in the Smeraldo Theatre.

Final Stage and Prizes

There, the real competition will take place, and the winner will be a candidate for the selections of the “Zecchino d’Oro.” This partially fulfills (although, for now, limited to the youngest participants) the invitation made to Mayor Fausto Sachetto by the Valeggio singer Ivana Spagna.

In a public meeting, he emphasized the importance of creating spaces to foster music, as well as organizing singing contests. Participating in some of these contests has strengthened his awareness of the possibility of pursuing the long and challenging path of popular music.

Charitable Goals and Contacts

Among the aims of the event, besides showcasing a performance and involving numerous social organizations in the area, is its charitable aspect.

Funds will be raised for the Paraguayan children within the “Progetto Paraguay.” For more information about the event, please contact 045.8346252 or 0338.7494113.
