Lombardy Boosts Nutria Control with New Provincial Funding

Lombardy Region has allocated €225,500 to combat invasive nutria populations through three new projects in Mantova, Pavia, and Brescia. The funding aims to provide local authorities with immediate tools for activities such as census, trapping, and monitoring of the species.

The projects, supported by regional investments exceeding €1.2 million, involve specialized companies and associations. A new regional law also introduces fines of €100 to €500 for tampering with traps and authorized devices used in control operations.
