Olympic Flame Kicks Off in Olympia with Stops at Desenzano and Riva del Garda

The Olympic torch relay began on December 4th at the Temple of Hera in Olympia and will make 60 stops across Italy, culminating in the Milan opening on February 5th. On January 18th, the relay will pass through Desenzano del Garda, where it will enter the town at 8:12 am, carried by 22 torchbearers over a 3 km route, ending at 8:47 am. The route includes key locations such as via Dal Molin, viale Motta, piazza Matteotti, and lungolago Cesare Battisti.

In the Garda Trentino area, the torch will reach Riva del Garda at Piazza Catena at 11:30 am, then proceed along the lakefront to the Fragilia della Vela at noon. It will continue via Circolo Vela Arco towards Torbole, accompanied by law enforcement boats and local sailing clubs, arriving at the port of Torbole around 12:40 pm before continuing on foot to the municipal building. Notable torchbearers for this stage include athletes Paola Pezzo, Elia Viviani, Elena Cecchini, and Sara Simeoni.
