Croce Rossa Moves to New Community Headquarters in Desenzano

For fifteen years, they have provided a valuable service to the community, but for long periods, their headquarters was a dilapidated caravan without heating, parked inside the Molin stadium. Now, a new headquarters has been granted free of charge by the municipality, located in an apartment on via Giotto for Croce Rossa.

Happy with the arrangement—which includes a meeting room, a kitchen, and a room with bunk beds for the 118 service shifts—Sergio Carretta, a founding member of the section and one of its most active pioneers, states: «We have knocked on many doors numerous times — says Carretta — and finally, positive signals started to arrive from the municipal building; until the delivery of the apartment on via Giotto, for which we are grateful to the Amministrazione comunale. We have always continued, despite difficulties, to do our work, ensuring shifts and services for the population.»

The move has already been completed, and in the garage is the brand new ambulance recently supplied to the Croce Rossa of Desenzano, in addition to the one already operational at the Sirmione delegation. It will mainly be used for transporting sick and dialyzed patients, as well as for emergency medical services.
