Participants and venues
The twenty-fifth edition of the Rally 1000 Miglia has closed registrations at 113 crews, 13 of which are international. The event’s headquarters transferred yesterday morning to the Palazzo del Turismo in Desenzano, where the latest updates about the rally were announced.
Importance and organization
In just five years, the Brescia rally has become one of the most significant events on the European calendar and is Italy’s most prestigious road race after Sanremo. The rally is driven by the Automobile Club di Brescia, the Regione Lombardia, and various Brescia-based economic and tourism entities, starting with the Comune del Basso Lago di Garda.
Start, route, and international participants
The rally will start from piazza del Vallone and finish at piazza Malvezzi. Serving as the opener for the European Rally Championship, the 1000 Miglia is the second Italian championship event and represents a competition of the highest international level.
Teams and drivers competing
Our champions—including Paolo Andreucci (Ford Focus WRC), Renato Travaglia (Peugeot 206), Andrea Aghini (Subaru Impreza), Alex Fiorio (Mitsubishi Carisma)—along with many others, will face the challenge with teams from Germany, Bulgaria, Russia, the Netherlands, and France.
Local champions and race route
Among Brescia drivers, Luca Pedersoli will be supported by a special navigator, Alessandro Altobelli, making his rally debut aboard a Punto Kit 1600. The race course includes six different special stages, with return stops at the parco assistenza di Cunettone every three stages.
