Castiglione Junior City Council Training Starts at Bedeschi Middle School

The first of three training sessions for the Junior City Council will be held this afternoon at the Bedeschi Middle School. The initiative’s promoter, which aims to create an open forum for students from the fourth grade of elementary school through to third grade of middle school, is the Comprensive Institute no.1 of Castiglione, led by school principal Lena Baronio.

The emerging body, which is part of the School Orientation Project, is supported by Assessor for Public Education, Giuseppe Bertoli and is expected to be inaugurated during the first week of June.

Objectives and Methods of the Project

Knowledge, skills, and attitudes: these are the educational principles that motivated us to plan and propose such an initiative,”

says Lelia Moreschi, a teacher at the institute and the project’s creator.

Starting from the new school year, students will commit to promoting programs related to the relationship between school, culture, leisure, and sports; in short, they will actively intervene on all topics they feel are relevant.

The programs, devised by a sort of student council formed by the students themselves, will be reviewed by the councilors. The most appropriate and interesting proposals may ultimately reach the municipal council for approval.

Educational Goals and Student Training

The main aim,” continues Lelia Moreschi, “is to educate students about planning and active, democratic participation in their social lives.” Given the level of commitment they undertake, their preparation is carefully managed.

The training will be conducted by a competent staff composed of various professional figures.
