Olympic Torch Relay Stage 42 Passes Through Garda Trentino and Torbole
The Olympic torch relay’s 42nd stage concluded in Verona and paused yesterday in Garda Trentino, passing through Riva, Arco, and Torbole before reaching Piazza Catena. The flame then continued along Lake Garda’s promenade, with local officials including Trento Province President Maurizio Fugatti and Sports Assessor Mattia Gottardi attending the ceremony alongside residents.
Launched on December 4 at the Temple of Hera in Olympia, the torch’s journey across Italy spans 60 stages until its arrival in Milan on February 5 for the Milano-Cortina 2026 opening. In Garda Trentino, the torch was transported by boat with police, fire, and coast guard vessels, starting from Circolo Vela Arco and ending at the Torbole marina, involving local youth sailing teams and competitive squads.
