Symbol & Symbol Event Combines Ferrari Cars and Riva Motorboats at Lake Garda
The second edition of «Symbol & Symbol», the gathering of Riva motorboats and Ferrari cars, has been archived. On Sunday afternoon, after the German GP broadcast on the giant screen of the Tourism building, the traditional plaque presentation to participants took place, conducted by Mayor Cino Anelli and Tourism Councillor Giuliano Garagna.
Among the authorities present were Paola Ciribilli, Head of External Relations at Riva Yachts, Luca Matteoni, President of the Ferrari Club Italiani, and Giorgio Barilani, designer and “father” of dozens of models produced by the Sarnico-based shipyards. Despite the scorching heat on Lake Garda’s shoreline, the event saw thousands of visitors and passersby stopping among the magnificent “reds” and the Aquarama wooden boats made of mahogany by Riva Yachts, docked in the old port.

In summary, it can be said that the organizers, led by Curzio Moretti, successfully achieved their goal: to provide an exceptionally unique spectacle for the thousands of tourists flocking to Garda’s holiday spots in these days. Combining the elegance and refinement of Sarnico’s hulls—proud symbols of our recreational shipbuilding industry—and the powerful engines of Maranello is not a cliché.
Added to this was the equally original concept of transportation from one town to another, from cultural and historical sites such as the Vittoriale degli Italiani, to other locations of our artistic heritage like Castle of Montichiari or the Scaliger Castle of Sirmione. All this packed into just three days, with a packed schedule of travel and appointments.
The Sunday started with the transfer of boats and cars to Sirmione. The F300 driven by Michael Schumacher when he won the title last year was parked near the well located in Piazza Castello, immediately surrounded by hundreds of people. For tourists, it was an unmissable opportunity to photograph the champion Ferrari along with their cameras or video recorders.
After a quick visit to the courtyard of the Scaliger Castle where Mayor Maurizio Ferrari delivered greetings on behalf of the town, the group returned to Desenzano. On Saturday evening, another spectacular session of the three-day «Symbol & Symbol» took place at the Montichiari castle, featuring a buffet offered by the «Vittoriale» restaurant, followed by a highly original show.
