San Martino della Battaglia Wine Festival Celebrates Local Culture and Growth

The Wine Festival and San Martino della Battaglia Activities

Five lively days await San Martino della Battaglia, the famous district of the Risorgimentale Tower. Five unforgettable days for the volunteers of the Sports Group, led by Ezio Breda, five days of merry-making and celebrations for locals and tourists alike.

It is the Wine Festival, the largest popular festival on Garda Lake, which rivals in visitor numbers. Every evening, thousands of people flock to the large sports field of San Martino to enjoy the finest local cuisine and produce.

For the over one hundred volunteers of the sports group, it is a gamble renewed each August. They give up their vacations, dedicating months of preparation to make this festival a success, contributing their indispensable effort.

With the proceeds, the association manages to survive and expand its sporting activities. Thanks to this group, the children of the district have access to sports facilities and excellent organization.

Growth and characteristics of the district

San Martino dresses up for its magical moment. Even though, in recent years, with the new parish, new social center, numerous new residences, and shops, the district is rapidly developing.

The number of residents from Desenzano who prefer to move away from the town center—now sometimes unlivable in certain months—has increased. They come to live under the tower, amid a gorgeous countryside with paths that wind inland.

In 26 years, the Wine Festival has maintained its original character. It has, however, managed to showcase its attractive power through small but bright updates.

Program and events of the festival
