Ferragosto Events: Hikes, Art Exhibitions, and Music Festivals

Ferragosto is not just spectacular street celebrations. For those who enjoy nature walks, a guided hike will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, on Monte San Michele, in Valsorda, with visits to erosion badlands and the Moscal, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view.

Meet at 9 a.m. in the square of the Cavaion church. The event is organized by the Centro turistico giovanile (Youth Tourist Center) and the libraries of Baldo Garda; participation is open to everyone. For more information, contact 329.423.2157.

In Affi, on Wednesday, August 15, it will be the last day to see the personal exhibition of Remo Peretti at the Ca’ del Ri center of the municipal library, where he exhibits oil paintings and works in various techniques. The exhibition is usually open from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Ferragosto Fairs and Concerts

Brenzone offers two days of the San Rocco festival in the square of Marniga, with live music both on Ferragosto and Thursday evening.

In Lazise, the culture department, within the I Filarmonici festival, also presents for Ferragosto the concert titled “La musica galante”. Soloists from the chamber orchestra Accademia i Filarmonici will perform music by Vivaldi, Paganini, Rossini, and Boccherini, with Edoardo Catemario on guitar.

The event starts at 9 p.m. in the church of San Nicolò al porto. On Thursday, August 16, in Malcesine, at 9 p.m., a reprise of the concert will be held at the Palazzo dei Capitani halls.

For both events, tickets cost 10,000 lire, and the audience will receive a complimentary CD by Antonio Vivaldi.
