Cantalago Music Festival in Salò Showcases International Artists and Contest

Cantalago is nonstop. The traveling event of Lake Garda’s summer, now in its sixth edition, arrives tomorrow for the first time in Salò. At the Baden Powell Garden, starting at 9:30 PM, the caravan of singers, musicians, dancers, and comedians will arrive on the wings of hits collected from 17 countries along the Bénaco Riviera.

According to a time-tested format, the artistic director Enrico Bianchini’s event will feature the contest for performers and original songs, both of which have reached the semifinals. Contestants competing with covers of famous songs are, in order: Morena Lusenti from Manerba sul Garda (My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion), Mariangela Parpinel from Novate Milanese (Caruso by Lucio Dalla), Federica Perinon from Villafranca (Nessun Dolore by Lucio Battisti), Cristina Pigozzo from Verona (Come Saurrei by Giorgia), and Marco Tosi from Villafranca (Raccontami by Francesco Renga). Only one contestant will automatically advance to the final event scheduled for Monday, August 27th in Riva.

Final and Original Song Section

The same applies to the original song section, which will feature a knockout challenge between the E&S group from Concesio (Dimmi Chi Sei) and Linda Ongarelli from Pescantina (Sabbia tra le Dita). The contest will be presented by the exuberant Gloria Zanin, a former Miss Italy from the distant 1992.

During the show, comedian Renato Trinca from Milan’s Zelig will perform some of his hits, and Diletta Orlandi, music producer for the Festival, will sing a few of her successes. There will be several moments dedicated to ballet, along with space for solidarity initiatives, notably supporting the Salomé project for the distant adoption of children from an impoverished area in Madagascar.

Additionally, the evening will include the election of Miss Salò, a contest that serves as a qualifier for the national Miss Italia competition.
