Municipal Housing for Elderly Nears Completion in Former OPG Area
The new minimally equipped housing units for autonomous elderly individuals in the former OPG area are nearing completion. This is confirmed by Erminia Biaggi, the assessor of social services, following the publication of the notice for apartment assignments by the municipal housing office.
Notice for Housing Allocation
The notice is posted on the notice board of Palazzo Gonzaga to inform interested parties about the application submission process. To be eligible for the priority list, which will be compiled by the relevant offices, seniors must be at least 60 years old, and can submit their application by December 31, 2001, at the town hall, Social Services Department, on the ground floor.
For further information, inquiries can be made by calling 0376-679272-253. The small apartments, located at via Garibaldi 12, cost 410 million lire, and are part of a larger complex dedicated to the elderly, situated within the former psychiatric-judicial hospital on via Ordanino.
Facilities and Investments for the Elderly
A day center, an integrated service, and apartments form a core benefit for seniors, into which various municipal administrations have invested approximately 3 billion lire over the years.
In addition, significant developments regarding retirement homes are anticipated soon. Private entities are negotiating the purchase of a plot of land on which a assisted-living residence with over 100 beds will be built, likely in partnership with the public health service.
An agreement for the new retirement home location at via Garibaldi between the municipality and Zanetti-Cominelli is also nearing finalization.
