Riva del Garda Prepares for Rai Broadcast of Notte di Fiaba Event

A massive stage splitting the square in half; towering barricades already overflowing with colorful spotlights; platforms now ready to invade other strategic points on the lakefront; a giant panel where the inscription «Riva del Garda» is exactly the same as the one that some ten years ago accompanied the legendary Vele d’Oro.

Teams of cameramen and workers working diligently, and a certain Carlo Modena – whom we had lost sight of during the city’s most notable recent appearances on television – wandering like a hawk through Piazza Tre Novembre.

Signs of Return and Spoilers

These, along with many others, are signals of Riva’s big promotional comeback on Rai, coinciding with the Notte di Fiaba.

“Notte di Fiaba: questa è una storia”. This is the name of a show hosted by Anna Falchi that will take place Friday night under the Torre Apponale.

The official announcement will be made today by the organizing committee of the Night, chaired by Enzo Bassetti. But already in recent days, the news that will accompany the fireworks (Saturday) and all the related events dedicated to Mary Poppins has sparked curiosity among the hundreds of tourists crowding the «Rai construction site» in Piazza Tre Novembre.

It is known that the glamorous Falchi will feature Albano, Ivana Spagna, dancers, musicians, and magic acts sure to draw attention.

It is also known that the rehearsals for the show (which will then be broadcast Monday at 10:45 pm on Rai Uno) will take place Thursday evening (free entry for everyone), while the actual recording will happen on the evening of Friday the 24th, when the entire square will be fenced off and, for «stage discipline» reasons, only invited spectators will be allowed in the audience.

But if someone wishes to be at the front row, they still have the option to reserve a table at the restaurants facing the square. The Centrale, for example, has prepared a special menu for just 70,000 lire.

The show is produced by Vittoria Cappelli, with whom Ciemme of Carlo Modena has collaborated.

A return to past glory? Yes, that is the hope. Notte di Fiaba is such a significant brand that they are considering launching it on TV as well.
