Miss Italy Tania Zamparo Reflects on Her Year and Future Goals
It was a real surprise to see Tania Zamparo, the current Miss Italy, at Desenzano del Garda during the regional selection for the San Benedetto event.
Her presence was one of the last public appearances she will make with the coveted national title of Italy’s most beautiful before passing the crown and scepter to the new winner on September 10th in Salsomaggiore.
As Miss Italy, her task is to crown Maeva Centazzo and Vanila Di Vanna, the two contestants who received nominations in Desenzano for San Benedetto, where one of them will be named Miss Lombardia.
Interview with Miss Italy
We asked Zamparo what she experienced during her year as Miss Italy. “It has been a very beautiful, intense year. It was also filled with many sacrifices, as I had to abandon everything I was doing before—my entire life—to dedicate myself to Miss Italy commitments, my studies, my work, and my city.”
But it was worth it: a year is long, and I’ve gained many experiences—more than enough. Now, I am ready to step forward on my own towards everything that awaits me from September onward.”
Do you already have plans for your future? “I was already working as a model and in the entertainment industry, and I want to continue this path. I aim to become a television presenter.”
This year, I hosted a program on Rai Uno called Rai Uno Spot, which aired thirty episodes every Saturday afternoon, throughout the winter and spring.
I hope this experience will serve as a small resume to continue working in television.”
Studies and Private Life
And your studies? You said enough! “No, no, I want to keep studying, especially because I have a great passion. I was working as a model while studying at the same time.”
Not because I wanted a piece of paper or had nothing to do, but because I really enjoyed what I was doing—I love languages and literature.
For this reason, I hope my passion will help me graduate.”
Everyone wants to know about Miss Italy’s romantic life. Are you in love? “I am in love with the same person I loved when I was crowned; we are still together and everything is going well, everything works fine.”
I am one of the few Misses who can say she still shares her life with the same boyfriend.”
And do you plan to continue? “Well yes, after this year, we’ve overcome the biggest hurdle, so we hope to stay together as long as possible, maybe for life!”
Advice for Aspirant Misses
What advice would you give to those girls participating and facing what you already experienced last year? “My advice is to have fun, to take home many beautiful memories, because only one person wins the Miss Italy title out of around 270 who arrive in San Benedetto.”
This still depends largely on luck—not just objective beauty, because true beauty doesn’t actually exist.
Therefore, you can’t know who will win; so, go in with the intention to have a great experience, to have fun, to take home lovely memories, and many stories to tell.”
The Personal Sacrifice
How much of your private life have you sacrificed for this title? “Quite a lot. Perhaps the best advice I can give to the new Miss Italy, who will be crowned on September 10th, is to try to preserve the most important things in your life.”
This includes that core of values and human relationships that are truly important—to not neglect or lose them, and to protect them from this year, which can truly change you a lot.”
So, it’s essential to preserve those things you genuinely care about!”
