Desenzano, Gavardo, and ManerbioLabs Now Offer Saturday Examinations
From September 1st, laboratory exams will be available every Saturday at the hospitals of Desenzano, Gavardo, and Manerbio. Announcing the launch of this new service, which aims to meet the needs of many citizens, especially workers, is the head of the Azienda’s Pathology Laboratories, Prof. Bruno Milanesi.
“This is a new offering for users: it will allow access to our laboratories on Saturdays from 7:30 am to 9:30 am. The initiative, strongly supported by the General Management – Milanesi continues – has now been implemented after receiving precise information about the population’s expectations.”
The new service will require significant effort from all staff: it involves careful planning to ensure that, within 24-48 hours of blood collection, more than 95% of the requested exams are processed and results are delivered.
“Following the directives provided by the company’s general director, Angelo Foschini, and the medical director, Alfonso Castellani – explains the chief, Prof. Bruno Milanesi – all personnel, at every level, have taken on this demanding new challenge in the face of private healthcare.”
Expansion plans and technological innovation
But that’s not all. More news is on the way. “An expansion of the Desenzano laboratory is planned, which will enhance activity capacity and improve patient care. By the end of the year,” Milanesi continues, “the installation of the *work-cell* system is also scheduled—an advanced automation system for integrated management of a modern clinical laboratory model”.
What are the benefits? “It will shorten the processing times for blood draws and the delivery of reports. Regarding this system,” Milanesi states with a hint of pride, “there’s only one other example in Lombardy—at the *San Raffaele* hospital in Milan”.
Additional expansion and modernization work are planned in Gavardo (already nearing completion) and Manerbio. At the Val Sabbia hospital, with an added 100 square meters, the Molecular Biology and transfusion services will be situated.
In the town of southern Brescia, meanwhile, following the sale of a property owned by the company, a new building will be constructed to house the outpatient clinics and blood draw center.
