27th Riva del Garda Dog Expo Showcase at Palazzo dei Congressi
Next Sunday, the 27th edition of the Expo Canina di Riva del Garda will be held at the Palazzo dei congressi. This end-of-summer event is popular among all animal lovers with four paws.
Many dog enthusiasts take the opportunity to spend a holiday on Lake Garda, which coincides, among other events, with the famous Notte di Fiaba. Indeed, participation will again be high this year: more than 400 dogs are already registered in the catalog.
Judging and Breed Variety
As always, the jury is international. It includes, in addition to Italian experts, four judges of foreign nationalities.
At the Palacongressi, visitors can admire dogs from over one hundred different breeds: herding dogs, guard dogs, retrievers, hunting dogs, sighthounds, companion dogs; large and small breeds, from the widespread German Shepherd to the increasingly popular Labrador Retriever, from the rare Chin (toy breed) to the Italian Greyhound.

The significant presence of Italian and international exhibitors naturally recognizes the efforts of the Gruppo cinofilo trentino (presided over by Gaetano Turrini), which, together with volunteers and sponsors Friskies, Caritro, and Itas Assicurazioni, has been working for months to prepare the event.
Program of the Day
The schedule starts in the morning at 10 a.m. with the beginning of the judging sessions. Dogs, grouped by breed, will perform in rings where judges will evaluate, according to a prioritized list, whether their morphological and temperamental characteristics conform to the official breed standard issued by ENCI.
Judging will continue throughout the morning and early afternoon, followed by the «Best in Show» ceremony, where the “most beautiful dog” of the twenty-seventh edition of the Riva del Garda show will be crowned.
