Artistic Gathering at Punta San Vigilio Celebrates Lake Garda Views

A sunny day capturing one of the most evocative and perhaps the most well-known corners of Lake Garda, Punta San Vigilio.

A new fascinating experience for a group of master painters engaged in a single and collective performance to depict on canvases, through a chromatic palette, the marvelous natural and architectural views offered by the enchanting landscape of the Benaco.

This is what twenty artists operating on a national scale, from five Italian regions, experienced when invited to the fifth Friendship Festival of the «La Carica» artistic and cultural circle, hosted by Count Giovanni Rana, who generously opened the villa and park of San Vigilio.

After the Cedri Villa of Colà with its park and thermal pool, the Natura Viva Park, and the historic courtyards of Pastrengo, another delightful opportunity arose to immortalize places rich in suggestion and history.

Giovanni Rana’s Contribution and Artists’ Participation

Giovanni Rana, a generous and exquisite host, wanted to be present to showcase his interest in art and to fully support the annual gathering of the Pastrengo association, which awarded him the «Premio La Carica» in 1999.

The artists committed themselves to creating individual oil paintings, all inspired by the proposed theme. Particularly successful were two large panels; one, a three-handed depiction of a lake view towards Salò and Manerba from the veranda, and the other, a four-handed reproduction showing the south side of the villa, surrounded by two female figures in colorful costumes on the left, the central garden, and Mount Luppia on the right.

The latter, as a memento of the day, was donated to Giovanni Rana, who will keep it in the billiard room.

Results and Comments on the Event

The initiative was very successful, and the well-known industrialist expressed his complete satisfaction: «I didn’t expect it to be so interesting».

«I admired works truly well constructed with great skill by talented professionals who deserve all my praise».

The day concluded joyfully with a dinner for the participants at the «La Carica» hotel, attended by authorities and guests.

Final Moments and Tributes

As they raised their glasses, Mayor Giorgio Benamati and President of the Centro Promozionale Gianni Rama eloquently expressed the meaning of these gatherings of art and friendship, which contribute to human growth, and as they looked forward to the next edition, they offered the participants the traditional commemorative gifts: Rana products, Paluani products, and wines from Cantine Lamberti offered by their respective companies.
