Carzago Opens New Childcare Facility with Community Celebrations
Three days of celebration in Carzago, a frazione of Calvagese della Riviera, for the inauguration of the new social-assistance facility for the daycare, located at the “F. Conter” kindergarten building. This facility is capable of accommodating up to 24 children aged between 12 and 36 months. It has been designated as an “educational service,” primarily aimed at families, or parents, who face particular organizational challenges in their daily work routines, especially regarding their young children. This issue becomes especially pronounced when mothers, after their maternity leave, return to their jobs. At this critical moment, the need for facilities that can assist young children becomes most urgent. Often, this problem is worsened by the fact that grandparents do not live in the same town as the parents or, as often happens, are still of working age and therefore unavailable to care for their grandchildren. Sensitive to these issues, the members of the management board of the Carzago kindergarten, after various consultations with similar existing facilities, decided to initiate the development of the Micronido. Naturally, the numerous bureaucratic phases involved, including securing the necessary funds for the project, were undertaken, with funding obtained from Regione Lombardia and Fondazione Carialo. For several months now, some children have been hosted in the spaces specifically designed for them, from 7:45 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The main activities revolve largely around playtime, including ground play in a specially soft area, exploration of both indoor and outdoor environments, storytelling, and listening to music. Also included are lunch and an afternoon rest. The inauguration days feature a packed and engaging program. It begins on Friday, August 31, at 8:30 p.m., with a conference titled “Our community reflects on the needs of the child.” Speakers will include Maria Luisa Tironi, director of the CIDAF counseling center in Brescia, and Angelo Metalli, an educator delegated by UNICEF. Both speakers also serve as consultants for the micronido. On Saturday, September 1, at 9:00 p.m., an outdoor screening of the film “Galline in fuga” (Fleeing Chickens) will be held. The highlight of the weekend is the Sunday celebration, with a Holy Mass at 10:30 a.m., presided over by Mons. Faustino Guerrini. Following the service, a blessing of the new premises will take place in the presence of numerous, pre-announced regional, provincial, and municipal authorities. In the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to tour the various rooms, which include a large room for educational activities, a resting corner, a kitchen and communal dining area, as well as the bathrooms, pantry, and outdoor spaces.
