Cinema in Rocca: Successful Film Series at Lonato’s Castle
Thirty-five evenings with over 110 kilometers of film projected; 3,156 attendees, including 2,843 paying guests and as many as 300 on the opening day with free screenings. Not a single evening was canceled in Lonato, thanks also to the commitment of the volunteers who, on some occasions, organized indoor screenings in the hall of the Cinema Italia at the oratory.
These are the final statistics of the third edition of Cinema in Rocca, organized by the youth center. The results have excited Giroldo Amadei, the administrative manager of the parish, and Gianfranco Badinelli, who spent every evening of his holidays behind the projector, along with other volunteers who diligently managed the box office, the bar, prepared the screen (a tarp of over 40 square meters), and arranged several hundred chairs.

The parish priest of Lonato, Monsignor Giuseppe Boaretto, also feels the need to express «a heartfelt thank you to the Fondazione Ugo da Como, the municipal administration, and the numerous volunteers of the oratory, especially to the operators who made this popular summer event possible…».
In short, a decidedly positive adventure that started on June 30 and ended on August 26. A success for Fondazione Ugo da Como as well, thanks to the active collaboration of Angelo Papa, who found that the event also helped to promote the castle.
After the cinema under the stars closes, screenings will resume at the youth center in via Antiche Mura: this weekend, the program features «Evolution». Entrance ticket: 10,000 lire (reduced 6,000).
