Oktoberfest 2001 Returns with German Music, Food, and Charity Events

After a break last autumn, in a few weeks the grand beer festival, Oktoberfest 2001, will return, celebrating the twinning with the German town of Leutkirch. It will be an intense few days, from October 4 to 7, featuring beer drinking, tasting of German culinary specialties, and listening to folk music from across the Alps. The event will take place in the traditional Bavarian tent set up in the San Pietro square, near the swimming pools. The stands will open every evening at 7:30 PM, except on Sunday, when the final celebration will begin at 6 PM.

Some musical groups from Germany will be those from previous editions, while others will be new. The cuisine will be curated by the Balordi group, who will donate the proceeds to charity. The Harle beer will be distributed by friends coming from Leutkirch. Many volunteer organizations are involved: in addition to the Balordi, the Cooperativa Fiordaliso-Anffas, a representative of the Sant’Angela Merici nursery school, the boys from Castello, retired carabinieri, the alpini, and a sports group made up of members of the Fc Castiglione and amateur soccer players.
