Lonato’s Mercantico Fair Features Art, Antiques, and Local Exhibitions

The painting personnel of Sergio Piva, free tastings of mortadella, an artists’ market, and an exhibition of «Things of the Past». These are the selected ingredients for the edition of Sunday, September 16th of «Mercantico», the fair of antiques, vintage items, and assorted collectibles that has been held for several years every third Sunday of the month in the historic center of Lonato.

Events and Openings

A return to normality after the Ferragosto appointment, which took place in a suggestive nocturnal setting, complete with live music. The Sergio Piva exhibition will be inaugurated tomorrow, Saturday the 15th, at the Sala Celesti of the municipal palace at 5 PM and will remain open until September 23rd.

It features particularly distinctive works for their representational type, aimed at performing color phenomenology according to a concrete formulation. Color acts as an authentic visual catalyst. Artists from Garda and Brescia will find space in front of San Giovanni Basilica, presenting a varied gallery of styles and messages.

Things of the Past and Exhibitions

The «Things of the Past» (peasant civilization of the 1950s-1960s) collection owned by Claudio Bersan, retired from San Cipriano, will be accessible throughout Sunday, September 16th, from 9:30 AM to 7 PM. The exhibition is open in the former Lonato district prison on via Repubblica.

The «Mercantico» is organized by a dedicated spontaneous committee and by the Lonato Department of Commerce and Tourism.
