Gianfranco De Iseppi Calls for Transparency in Venetian Rowing Finances
Critical Gianfranco De Iseppi, president of the Remiera society that has once again won the Bandiera del lago, states he has no intention of discussing it at all. However, when the topic shifts to Venetian rowing, Gianfranco De Iseppi, president of Remiera di Peschiera, the society that has won the Bandiera del lago for the third consecutive year, becomes agitated and passionately responds.
Reactions and protests regarding the championship
“Even if it were true that the Garda rowing championship today costs 200 million lira, that’s just hearsay. In reality, all expenses are borne by the dozen members of the Gruppo bisse, who are sponsored and supported by their respective Municipal administrations.” De Iseppi is particularly upset about the reimbursements for expenses made by the Lega Bisse to rowers.
“Before asking for more money at the end of the championship to balance the books, it would have been more appropriate to reveal the financial statements. Greater transparency in the management of others’ money is needed, and expenses must be fully justified. I have repeatedly asked for detailed reports but have received no answer.”
De Iseppi’s position and willingness to collaborate
“For this reason,” emphasizes the president of Remiera di Arilica, “I no longer intend to interfere and remain on the sidelines of the Lega Bisse. However, I am willing,” he adds, “to collaborate when there is a genuine need to build something new.”
